Benchly Installation Guide
Installing the Benchly Microsoft Word
Add-In
Overview
This guide outlines the process for installing the Benchly
Microsoft Word Add-In. Benchly offers two installation methods depending on
your needs: Per User (EXE) and Per Machine (MSI).
Installation
Options
1. Per User (EXE Installation)
The Per User installation is designed for individual users
and does not require administrative privileges. This method is ideal if the
add-in will only be used by a specific account on the device.
Steps:
- Download
the Installer:
- Obtain
the installer link provided by your Benchly Account Manager.
-
The installer will download to your browser’s designated folder or appear
at the bottom of the browser window, as shown below:
Run the
Installer:
- Locate
the downloaded installer file and double-click it.
- Follow
the prompts in the installation wizard.
- Complete
Installation:
- The
Benchly Add-In will be automatically added to your Microsoft Word ribbon.
- If
prompted, your IT administrator may need to approve the installation.
- Log
In:
- Upon
completion, enter your Benchly account credentials (provided by your
Account Manager) to activate the add-in.
2. Per Machine (MSI Installation)
The Per Machine installation is suitable for deploying
Benchly across multiple accounts on the same device. Administrative privileges
are required.
Steps:
- Obtain
the Installer:
- Your
Benchly Account Manager will provide the MSI installer link to your
organization's designated contact.
- Run
the Installer:
- Double-click
the MSI installer file and follow the prompts in the installation wizard.
- Complete
Installation:
- The
add-in will be accessible to all user accounts on the device without
requiring separate installations.
Best Practices
- Verify
Access: Ensure you have received both the installer link and account
credentials from your Benchly Account Manager.
- Admin
Approval: If administrative privileges are required, coordinate with
your IT department for assistance.
- Post-Installation
Check: Confirm the Benchly ribbon appears in Microsoft Word after
installation.
This concludes the installation guide. If you encounter
issues, refer to the Support section in Benchly or contact your Account
Manager for assistance.
