Authority Panel
Overview
The Edit Citation function in the Found Authority
Panel allows you to make adjustments to identified citations without modifying
the text in your document. This feature ensures that citations are correctly
formatted and categorized for inclusion in the Table of Authorities (TOA).
How to Edit a Citation
- Open
the Found Authority Panel:
- Click
Review on the Benchly ribbon to display the Found Authority Panel.
- Locate
the Citation:
- Scroll
through the list of identified citations to find the one you want to
edit.
- Edit
the Citation:
- Double-click
on the citation text
in the panel.

Clicking on the checkbox in the citation will
not open the edit box.
- Make
the desired changes to the citation text in the dialog box:
- Save
Changes:
- Click
Save to keep the changes. The updates will be reflected in the TOA
but will not alter the citation in the body of the document.

- Review
Before Editing:
- Verify
the accuracy of the citation in the document before making edits in the
panel.
- Focus
on Consistency:
- Ensure
that all citations are formatted uniformly according to your selected
Style Manual.
- Check
Categorization:
- Confirm
that citations are placed in the correct sections to maintain a properly
organized TOA.
